La clase de español tomar mucho de mi tiempo.

Life has been pretty busy these last couple months.  I have been working an average of about thirty five hours per week, Monday-Friday ( I have Saturdays off! ). La clase de español tomar mucho de mi tiempo.( Translation )  "Spanish class takes much of my time."  Even though I only have class on Tuesday and Thursday the rest of my time is spent frusturating over piles of spanish homework. Bleh.  I can barely speak and understand English correctly, how can I be expected to learn Spanish?  The rest of my time is spent trying to figure out wedding and marriage stuff.

I'v started the process of checking out a couple apartements to live in come September.  But I still need to do a lot more planning as far as that goes.  On Thursday its going to be exactly six months until Dara and I get married.  In some ways its going by really slow, but others it flying by, and I feel like a lot of vauble time is disapearing to get all this planning done.   ...wait a minute... why am I on this then...?

Im very much looking forward to this weekend.  Dara and her family are coming down for Mission Sunday at our church. I cant wait to see my fiancee again!

Well im about out of time. I have to get ready for work and head out for another day at the O.D.

Till next time.

This is where the fun begins.

One Hundred Ninety-Seven Days, Fifteen Hours, Twenty Minutes, and Two Seconds and counting.  And so the clock continues to tick until September 13, 2008.  This day-- possibly the best day of my entire life--is the day that I join my life to the one Dara Kunkle.  With only a little over Six months to go it seems as though it couldn't be getting here any slower.  At the same time however, there seems to be so little time to iron out all the tiny--and also some big/huge/enormous--details of the wedding and also for Dara's and my future life together.  These next Six months have the word "STRESSFULL" written all over them.  This is where the fun begins.  But even though the stress may seem almost unbearable at times, the end reward will far out way the costs.

I ask that you would please pray for both Dara and I as we prepare for marriage.

Prayer Requests:

  1. For Gods direction on what to do about college / Where to go, and when.
  2. That we would find a place to live thats not expensive (in a good/safe area).
  3. For a Job that will be financially sufficient for supporting a family (wether or not to stay at Oregon Dairy until College)
  4. For relief from all the stresses of planning a wedding.

Thank you for your prayers, they are greatly appreciated.

Here it is...

The BIG News:

Dara and I are officially engaged!I proposed to her on wednesday, november 21. We are planning our wedding for September 13, 2008.

The Story

Dara and I were wandering around and ended up at Middle Creek Wildlife Reserve. We were just sitting around throwing rocks into the lake, trying to find the best rocks. Dara pointed to a rock that was clearly cemented in concrete, and told me she wanted that one. So I began "trying" to get this rock out for her. She then told me that she was just kidding and she didnt want it, but i was persisetent and told her that I was going to get it for her. After a couple minutes of scraping at the concrete trying to get the rock for her, I stood up, looked Dara in the eye, (very serioulsy) and said "Im sorry I couldnt get that stone for you, but I have 3 other stone that I want to give you instead." Then I got down on one knee, and had the ring (3-stone diamond ring), and then I said those five little words, "Dara, will you marry me?" :)

She said yes by the way!

I also had the talk with her Dad first.

The Plan

As I mentioned before, we are planning the wedding for September 13, 2008. The wedding will be in up in New York. After marriage, Dara and I are considering Scranton, PA as a place to live. It is half way between her family in NY and my family here in PA. It is and also near Baptist Bible College, which is were I might attend college. The plan is to get married and then wait a year before I go to college. This will allow for a good income before we go broke paying for college (haha... j/k.. i hope..) And also will help us in the transition from being single to being married. There are many things that we are still not entirely sure of, but we know that we can trust God to take care of us as we walk together down this path of our lives.

Prayer Request

Please pray:

1) that the wedding planning will go smoothly

2) for direction in planning for our future together

3) that I will find be able to find a job to provide for both of us

4) for direction as to were to live until college and after college

5) for any other decisions we will need to make

6) for what we will do about Winston (dara's horse)

7) anything that I cant think of right now (haha)

Thank you for your prayers.

Closing

Dara and I will be getting more information out as it becomes availible. If you have and comments/suggestions/advice we would be happy to hear from you. You can leave them on here, or email me at drewhoey@comcast.net

Once again...

... I bring you a new update. Wow its been a long time. I almost forget how to use this. Thank you Dara for hacking into my site and letting everyone know  I was still alive while I was at camp.

Where to begin? I guess I'll start with a little bit about camp.

It was overall a pretty good year at camp, for the most part. We had a few complications with the leadership and communication with certain individuals. Some of that was eventually resloved. We had a good staff this year, we all got along great! We had great teamwork, there were only a couple people that wanted to kill eachother by the 4th week. just kidding. Really though it was a good year as far as staff.

I was working on maintanence as I had said before. I enjoyed it alot more than last year doing housekeeping and snack shop. To be honest though we didnt really do a whole lot of work. We didnt have any major projects as we did in past years. Most of my time was spent sitting on a lawn mower. That was pretty much all the "hard" work I did. But it was good to be back at camp. Seeing familer faces and meeting new people. It was good, I had a good summer.

I even made it up to New York on one of the weekends to see Dara, which was very good. It was the first time I had taken that trip on my own. My little Ford Escort managed to survive the trip. Basically i turned a trip that was suppose to take about 6 hours into a trip that took 9. I finally pulled in to there driveway at about 2am. Needless to say I wont be making those same directional mistakes twice. I'll probably find some new ones though. It was an awesome weekend though, but it was a long time ago so i cant remember all the details.

Like always time keeps going and camp came and went. It honestly seemed to go by really fast. There were days when it seemed like it was dragging but looking back I wonder where the summer went.

The week right after camp Dara was here. I picked her up at her grandparents house. She was in the lancaster, manheim area for a week and two days. It was really great to see her after that long of time. We also went down to Assateuqe Island and spent a weekend there with her family. We had alot of good talks and also some bad ones. But in the end our relationship keeps getting stronger.

Like always time with Dara goes way to fast and before I knew it, I was back into reality. My college classes were in full gear and I was back to work at O.D.

For those of you who dont know I am taking two college classes this semester. Im taking Biblical Hermenutics at LBC and Effective speeking at HACC. I really enjoy the Bib. Herm. class. Its ALOT of work, but im learning alot about studying and interpreting the bible. (i'll probably be writing more about this later)

My speech class, however, is another story. I really like the professor but I am not a fan of public speaking. Drama is a different story, because that is all memorized lines that I did not have to write. When I have to write my own speeches and present them for a grade I get freaked out. Apparently im doing a pretty good job though.

As far as work goes, I have gotten into the swing of things, however it is really testing my paitence. Some of the people that work back in grocery jut make me want to........Grrrhha..thhiaaaaa..agrivation...rahrahrah bleehh...mumble mumble. Let me put it this way, it is very agrivating. The talking cow at the end of aisle two doesnt help the situation either. Not kidding I have the whole thing memorized. Just ask Dara she has heard me recite it.

I am in the process of appyling for colleges. I have already applied for Appalachian Bible College. I might be applying for Baptist Bible College. They both have camping minors so we shall see what happens.

If you would like to pray for me, here is a list of things you could pray for:

1) Patience at work with co-workers and the cow.

2) Dilegence(sp?) in College classes to get things in on time and not procrastinate.

3) Wisdom to know what Gods will is for my life.

4) Patience to wait to know what Gods will is for my life.

5) Unspoken Request.

6) Wisdom in making decisions that will greatly affect my life in the future.

7) and Peace to know that God is in control of every aspect of my life.

Thats all I can think of at the moment. Thank you for your prayers.

Well its time to go call Dara. acctually past time... hmm..

Until next time.

Hello, all...

Sorry to disappoint, this is not a post from the one-and-only A.S.H.; but rather, his girlfriend taking over his site.  I think I have his last post memorized.

Well, Drew's been pretty busy working at camp all summer.  A couple weeks ago they had "Encouragement Week", which is when the guys scheme up some fun surprise for the girls and the girls do something for the guys.  So it sounds like that was a blast, tho I will leave details to him since I wasn't actually there... liq

Yall can keep praying for him [and I!], that we would know and follow God's plan for ours lives... still figuring out all that college fun. [I'm sure most of you know that excitement!]

As for getting to see each other? Not much, unfortunately.  If you want definite figures, you can assume for something like 6 times a year.   It'll be less once he goes to college in WV.   It's rather saddening, but does not affect our relationship's strength at all. Thank God for Cingular's free mobile-to-mobile plan!

Actually, [and this I find very exciting!], I'll be coming home to him for a few days, which is going to be amazing.  The countdown is currently at 11 days...

Alrighty, well, that seems to be the main points as of right now.  Isn't it good knowing he's still alive and well, even if his Xanga's not? :-p

PS- He did make it up to NY to see me in June.  I must be the most blessed girl in this universe to have a man like this.
